Since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (W.A.A.P.A) in 2000, Kellie's career has allowed her to perform leading roles throughout Australia and across the globe.

In 2008 and 2009 Kellie played the role of Janet in Gale Edwards’ production of The Rocky Horror Show in Sydney and in Melbourne. Later in 2009 she played Hortense in The Production Company's The Boyfriend and performed in the concert tour of Broadway To Australia with Broadway legends Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty.

From 2002 - 2005 Kellie performed the leading role of Sophie in the original Australian production of MAMMA MIA! She had understudied the role since its premiere in Melbourne in 2001 for the Melbourne and Brisbane seasons, then in 2002 took over the leading role. She went on to perform the role in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and in the Brisbane and Melbourne return seasons.

In 2006 Kellie performed in the critically acclaimed musical Virgins, by Dean Bryant and Matthew Frank, for which she was also nominated for a Greenroom Award. After a successful season at the Malthouse, she was invited to take part in the New York Musical Theatre Festival's production of Virgins, performing off-Broadway at the Barrow Group Theatre. Later in 2006 she was invited to work with Mandy Patinkin at his Masterclass held during the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. In 2007 Kellie performed the role of Annie in Gary Young and Paul Keelan's Pratt and Helpmann Award winning musical, Sideshow Alley and the title role in Gary Ginivan's production of The Adventures of Peter Rabbit in Melbourne and Hong Kong.

After the birth of her son in 2010, Kellie has most recently participated in two New Musicals workshops of Anthony Crowley and Mark Jones' Carnival Joe and The New Black by Marcus Corowa, Stephen Lloyd Helper and Leeroy Bilney. She also performed in Musical Melodies featuring the songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber for Gary Young and the City of Stonnington.

"Kellie Rode is deliciously pert and petite.. She has that magical quality that lights up a stage, can sing and dance and is totally immersed in her role" Herald Sun
