After training with the NSW Drama Company and under NIDA practitioner Kate Gaul, Brendan’s career kicked off when triple j offered him the chance to get behind the mic in 2007. Since then he has hosted and produced some of triple j’s highest rating shows from House Party to Super Request, scoring top interviews with Goldfrapp, John Butler, Krafty Kuts and Urthboy.
His charismatic tv skills took him to the top round of Channel [V]’s Search For a Presenter in 2010 and year later [V] sent Brendan to Hawaii as an official B430 blogger. His unique articles, reviews and videos scoring the highest response from the [V] audience for the series.
Brendan has a depth of experience on camera having worked on both live television and high-end commercials from Coca-Cola, Nintendo Wii and as the face of Virgin Mobile. He appeared in the Australian Independent film Coffee in 2009 and has since made a habit of popping up in cameo roles for ABC Television programs such as New Inventors, Tuesday Book Club, The Chaser and Marieke Hardy’s 2011 hit, Laid.
In 2008 he was the recipient of the Australian Youth Week Prize for Songwriting and in 2010 went on to release his debut EP White Canvas, with the records first single landing in the Rage Top 50. 2011 has seen Brendan record singles with Paul Mac, Faker, Lanie Lane and Clare Bowditch and also singing for the Disney cartoon, CJ the DJ. He is now set to tour with chart topping Australian artist Kate Miller Heidke before getting back behind the mic on triple j.
The Great Gatsby is Brendan's first major feature film, playing to role of Klipspringer.
