Joshua Tyler is a writer and actor. Most recently, Joshua starred in and co-wrote season two of the half hour comedy series, Plonk, which aired on Channel Nine, Stan and Virgin Australia. Other recent screenwriting credits include, Tashi (Flying Bark Productions, ABC 3), Oh Yuck (Flying Bark Productions, Seven Network) and seasons one and two of Plonk (One Stone Pictures, Eleven). Joshua recently wrote and directed his first feature film, Video Report, a crime comedy currently in post production. His feature film, Top End Wedding (written with Miranda Tapsell and produced by Goalpost Pictures) will go into production later this year.
His short films screened at international film festivals include – ‘Flipsical’ (Susie Porter, Aden Young) screened at Interfilm Berlin, Flickerfest Sydney, Sci-Fi Film Festival London and Clermont-Ferrand France. ‘Hungry: the dead must feed’ screened at festivals in the US, UK, Brazil and Australia; it sold to cable TV in North America. Joshua’s theatre credits include work for Tanja Liedtke (Twelfth Floor, Construct), Force Majeure (Not in a million years), Australian Dance Theatre (Ignition), Sydney Dance Company (New Breed ), Griffin Theatre Company (Lovely Ugly), State Theatre Company of SA (Equus) and Belvoir St Theatre (The Kiss).
Joshua has a Master of Arts (Screenwriting) from The Australian Film Television & Radio School and an Advanced Diploma of Arts (Acting) from Adelaide College of the Arts.
