Peter Cox

Peter has created a number of television series, beginning in 2002 with The Insider’s Guide to Happiness which he wrote at the age of 24, and went on to be produced by TVNZ, picking up six awards at the New Zealand Film and Television Awards, including best script and best drama series, screening on SBS and the Australia Network.

Since then, Peter has developed and/or created TV series’ in both drama and comedy, that have won more than 30 NZ Film and TV awards, and have been distributed in Australia, Canada, the UK, Asia and Europe, with format rights being sold in countries as diverse as Russia and the US.

He has also been the recipient of the Buddle-Findlay Sargeson Writer’s Fellowship, and won best new NZ Playwright at the Wellington Chapman Tripp theatre awards.

Peter is currently developing the TV series Edgewater with Goalpost pictures, set in Australia, and regularly travels back and forth between New Zealand and Australia.
