He hosted a community TV show at age 18 and went on to write for Skithouse, making him the youngest person to ever write for an Australian sketch comedy series.
After winning the National Campus Comedy Competition, Daniel lived in New York to intern in the writing department of the Late Show with David Letterman.
He was a founding writer on channel 10’s The Project and the show’s regular Melbourne correspondent. He currently writes for the comedy news show The Weekly on ABC.
Performing stand up, Daniel staged his one man shows The Judgemental Case, Yes Man Syndrome and Inspired by Mediocrity at The Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Daniel lived in Paris, where he was the Europe-based entertainment correspondent for Fairfax, and has written humour columns for the Guardian Guide in the UK.
In addition to being a presenter for Sunday Arts on ABC, Daniel has written for a variety of programs including Masterchef, The Einstein Factor, Open Slather, The Glass House and The Biggest Loser.
Daniel starred as ‘Dan’ in Girl Friday, a short-form comedy series that screened on ABC2 and won Best Entertainment at the AIMIA awards.
Showcasing his wit and love of television, Daniel is a columnist and contributor to the Green Guide in The Age and Sydney Morning Herald, and creates comedy video content for Fairfax Media online.
Daniel is heard regularly on 774 ABC Melbourne and Triple R, and is a sought after corporate speaker, performing for such companies as Melbourne Business School and BHP Billiton.
