Joshua Tyler is a writer, actor and dramaturge. Most recently, Joshua starred in and co-wrote the satirical comedy web series, Plonk, which also aired on Channel 11. Other recent screenwriting credits include Tashi (a children’s animated series for ABC), Wake with Me and Top End Wedding (two original feature films for Goalpost Pictures) and a stint at Southern Star, as script editor on Hartman's Solution.

His short films have screened at a number of official selections at international film festivals , ‘Flipsical’ (Susie Porter, Aden Young) screened at Interfilm Berlin, Flickerfest Sydney, Sci-Fi Film Festival London and Clermont-Ferrand France. His short Horror film ‘Hungry: the dead must feed’ screened at festivals in the US, UK, Brazil and Australia; it sold to cable TV in North America.

Joshua’s theatre credits include work for Tanja Liedtke (Twelfth Floor, Construct) , Force Majeure (Not in a million years), Australian Dance Theatre (Ignition), Sydney Dance Company (New Breed ), Griffin Theatre Company (Lovely Ugly), State Theatre Company of SA (Equus), The Old Fitz (DNA), Monkey Baa (Goodbye Jamie Boyd) and Belvoir St Theatre (The Kiss).

Joshua hosted The Process Podcast, an artist interview series for iTunes. Joshua’s interactive instillation ‘Elevator one’ was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Artbar (curated my Michaela Gleave).

Joshua has an Advanced Diploma in Acting from ACArts and an MA in Screenwriting from AFTRS. He is the winner of the Jill Blewitt Playwrights Award and the AFTRS NSWFTO scriptwriting Prize.
