Andrea Demetriades

Andrea is an actor originally from Western Australia. Since graduating from NIDA in 2006, she has worked consistently in leading roles across film, television and theatre.

Feature films include the title female role in Alex & Eve (dir: Peter Andrikidis), as well as roles in Around The Block (dir: Sarah Spillane) and Nerve (dir: Sebastien Guy). Television includes a leading role in Pulse (ABC), Seven Types Of Ambiguity (Matchbox/ABC), Squinters (Series 1 & 2), Reckoning (Sony TV), Murder (CBS / Warner Bros pilot), Janet King (Series 1, 2 & 3), as well as Crownies (Screentime/ABC), The Principal (SBS/Essential Media) and guest roles in Doctor Doctor (Nine), Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (ABC), and Mr & Mrs Murder (Network 10/Fremantle Media). Andrea also had a recurring role in the web series Fragments of Friday and has appeared in the Presto series Talk About.

Andrea has worked in theatre across the country including leading roles in Antigone for Sport for Jove; Arcadia, Arms and the Man, Perplex and Pygmalion for Sydney Theatre Co; The Dog/The Cat, The Book of Everything, Oedipus Rex for Belvoir Theatre; A Beautiful Life for Riverside; Intimate Letters, Romeo & Juliet, Twelfth Night, Pericles for Bell Shakespeare Co; Helly’s Magic Cup for the State Theatre Company of South Australia and Winter for the Griffin Theatre Company.

Her award nominations include the 2017 AACTA for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama for her work on Seven Types Of Ambiguity.
