Enoch Mailangi

Enoch Mailangi is a screenwriter, director, and absolute gossip based in Lakemba. An MFA graduate in writing for performance at NIDA, their practice primarily explores the intersections between Indigenous politics, the gay establishment, and comedy.

Enoch is a 2019-2021 Sydney Theatre Company Emerging Playwright, and a 2020 Urban Theatre Project Resident Artist. Some of Enoch’s work has been featured with Campbelltown Arts Centre, UNSW Galleries, First Draft, Museum of Contemporary Arts, National Young Writer’s Festival, Emerging Writer’s Festival, and Maeve Marsden’s QueerStories.

Enoch created and wrote a five-part comedy series for ABC iview, All My Friends are Racist, which is being funded by Screen Australia and commences shooting in November 2020.

Enoch hopes to work in television development of new works featuring voices from emerging Queer, Black & Indigenous writers of colour.
