Madeleine Parry

Madeleine was recently awarded the Lottie Lyell Scholarship to write Year 1 – a feature drama, and selected as a participant of the SAFC/AFF/Screen Australia Film Lab program to write and direct a low-budget dramedy feature. She’s in development on both documentary and narrative series, regularly mentors emerging talent and is passionate about supporting underrepresented voices to reach the screen.

Madeleine directed Emmy-award winning Hannah Gadsby: Nanette for Netflix, ten part comedy-documentary series Corey White’s Roadmap To Paradise and appeared in her own award-winning documentaries Murder Mouthin which she killed her own food for the first time (Slamdance, Best Film – Bondi, Cineglobe, People’s Choice – SASA, Second Prize – Shorts, Nominated – St Kilda, IF Awards), Meatwork (Best Standalone – Australian Director’s Guild, Best Documentary – SASA) and series Maddie Parry: Tough Jobs (Nominated – Best Series – Australian Director’s Guild) in which she worked alongside meatworkers, loggers, as a receptionist in a brothel and as a support worker in an abortion clinic. Madeleine has been a development director, writer, field producer and/or shooter for Blackfella Films, Keo Films, Princess Pictures, Matchbox Pictures and Beyond Entertainment among others.
