Remy Heremaia (he/him) is a proud Māori actor and performer originating from Auckland, New Zealand. Remy found his artistic voice on the Gold Coast before settling in Melbourne in 2022. With a diverse repertoire, Remy has performed on stage as; Loparkhin in The Cherry Orchard (dir.Bagryana Popov), Aaron in Archimedes War (dir. Krystalla Pearce) by Melissa Reeves, various roles in Everybody (dir. Isabella Vadiveloo) by Branden Jacob Jenkins, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (dir.Mark Wilson, adapted by Tyran Parke) performed at the Victorian Government House and most recently Pete in Hibernation (dir. Maude Davey) by Finegan Kruckemeyer.
Remy was also involved in the first development of Robbie Dienelt’s Hunterers and Gatherers: A Comedy of Urghs (dir. Blake Barnard).
Remy is passionate about the transformative power of storytelling and is driven to use his voice to inspire the next generation.
