Sam Cotton

Sam Cotton is an Australian actor, writer and illustrator.  He was born in Nambour and grew up in Queensland.

Throughout 2019, he was the lead role in Revolver’s highly anticipated 6-part ABC series, Diary of an Uber Driver.  Sam has appeared as Bruce in all five seasons of Rosehaven on the ABC, and he has appeared as Wayne in all three seasons of The Family Law on SBS.  Most recently Sam was in the current season of Mr Inbetween on FX, and he will soon appear in New Zealand feature film Mille Lies Low.

Sam has appeared in a numerous other Australian, American and UK television series including The Moth Effect, The Bureau of Magical Things, Wanted, The Pacific, Reef Doctors, My Place, Heartbeat, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Mr Black, and Amazing Grace. His other feature film credits include Danger Close, The Butterfly Tree, Australia Day, Unfinished Sky and See No Evil.

Sam has written, directed and produced several short films including the multi-award-winning drama The Gap starring Roy Billing. He also wrote and directed the dark comedy Help Yourself to Some Self Help starring Steve Hytner of Seinfeld fame.

Sam’s skill set includes illustration and animation.  He was winner of the inaugural SPA / TikTok pitching competition “Got A Minute” for his original idea Animates.  Additionally he has sold a number of pieces, and designed an album cover for the band Sheppard and the opening titles for Diary Of An Uber Driver.
