Louise Siversen

Louise Siversen

Louise Siversen is one of Australia’s most accomplished and versatile actors, with a career spanning over four decades across film, television, and theatre.

Louise has appeared in High Country (Foxtel), The Gloaming, the Binge original series Love Me, Five Bedrooms (Series 2), Rosehaven, the web series Celebration Nation, and Matchbox Pictures’ All Her Fault.

She is widely recognised for her many leading roles on television, including five seasons as the hugely entertaining Miss Looby in House Husbands, as well as standout performances in Prisoner, The Flying Doctors, Chances, Eugenie Sandler P.I., Neighbours, Stingers, The Secret Life of Us, Halifax F.P., and Janus—for which she received a Silver Logie nomination for Most Outstanding Actress. Louise also co-hosted and anchored BackBerner, which earned multiple Logie nominations for Best Comedy. Her other appearances span many of Australia’s most iconic series, including Utopia, Rake, Ronny Chieng: International Student, Hamish & Andy’s True Story, The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Blue Heelers, and The Games.

On stage, Louise has worked extensively with major theatre companies across Australia. Credits include A Jewish Christmas (MTC), Heartbreak Choir (MTC, nominated for a Green Room Award for Outstanding Ensemble), and Underneath Ms Archer at St Martin’s Theatre, which she co-wrote, co-produced, and performed with Peter Houghton. Other highlights include Noises Off (QT/MTC), All About My Mother, The Memory of Water, True Minds and The Joy of Text for MTC, her acclaimed one-woman show Coming To My Senses (Malthouse), and Mum’s The Word 2: Teenagers on national tour.

Louise’s film work includes Just A Farmer (nominated for Best Picture at the 2024 AACTA Awards), The Returned, The Surrogate, Tim Winton’s That Eye, The Sky, Evil Angels, Eye of the Storm, Crackers, and Sucker. Her short film credits include The Kingdom of Doug—which earned her a St Kilda Film Festival Best Actor nomination—along with Blow and What’s The Matter (Los Angeles International Short Film Festival).

A sought-after voiceover artist, Louise has voiced national campaigns, radio plays, audiobooks, and drama series, including Audible’s The Orchard with Eric Bana. She is also the voice of Corinna Chapman in Kerry Greenwood’s beloved audiobook series and was the national voice of David Jones for four years.

Expanding her creative practice, Louise co-wrote the BBC award-winning play Birthday Cake and continues to create and produce original work for stage and screen. Her digital series UNSPOILT, co-created with Peter Houghton, was released this year. In 2024, she also published Do Your World Differently: 365 Ways to Shake Up Your Life, co-authored with Georgina Capper.

Passionate about teaching, Louise has lectured and run workshops at institutions including VCA Drama School, NIDA, Deakin University, the National Theatre Drama School, and Brave Studios.

Since 2006, she has been featured annually in Who’s Who of Australian Women.
