Tom Walker

Tom Walker is a performer, writer, improviser and clown.

In 2016 Tom took home the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Best Newcomer Award with his show Beep Boop as well as Directors Choice for Zanzoop as part of Feeble Minds with Sam Campbell and Aaron Chen. Beep Boop went on to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and London. Tom’s follow up show, the inadvisably named Bee Boo, also toured across Australia and played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and earned Tom a nomination for MICF’s 2017 Most Outstanding Show Award. Upon his nomination, Tom got “Barry Award Winner 2017” tattooed on his arm, then when Hannah Gadsby’s Nanette won, he returned to the tattoo parlour and got Winner crossed out and replaced with Nominee. Bee Boo was aired as part of ABC2’s Comedys Next Gen.

The following year saw Tom perform Honk Honk Honk Honk Honk across Australia and in Edinburgh and London.

Tom’s 2019 show Very Very was another success, touring across Australia and Edinburgh before being filmed as a special for Amazon Prime Video, being released internationally on the streaming service. The same year Tom performed We Mustnt, co-writing the show with then-girlfriend (now wife) Demi Lardner. The show saw the pair win the SCF 2019 Directors Choice Award. Tom again toured Australia the following year with his show Javelin and most recently performed at the 2024 MICF with his latest show My Treasures My Beautiful Treasures.

Tom was as a main ensemble member of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Australia for Foxtel’s Comedy Channel which also aired to audiences on Network Ten. Tom also made appearances on Aaron Chen Tonight on the ABC, Growing Up Gracefully on ABC iView, Drunk History: Australia for Network Ten, The Hundred With Andy Lee on 9Now and can be heard in the Adult Swim animated series The Hamlet Factory.

Tom’s passion for improv comedy began in high school, winning the Sydney School Theatresports Cup in 2007 – he went on to win the Sydney University Theatresports Cup three times. In various teams, Tom won the 2011 Cranston Cup at the NSW Theatresports Championship, the 2011 National Theatresports Championship and was a Sydney Comedy Festival FRESH! Pick as half of improv duo MotherFather. Tom trained at the prestigious École Philippe Gaulier, sharpening up his skills across all areas of his performing life during the two years of training, graduating in 2015.

Tom can be heard co-hosting the hilarious podcast bigsofttitty.png alongside Demi Lardner. You can also find him streaming on twitch to his 15,000 followers every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. He currently mains Jamie in Street Fighter 6 (currently at Diamond 3).
