Louis Hanson

Louis Hanson is an Australian actor, writer & comedian.

His sold-out debut comedy show ‘Besties’ – performed at the 2023 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and 2023 Sydney Comedy Festival – received a 5-star review in The Age.

Hanson is currently undertaking professional screen actor classes at Brave Studios. He appeared in Amazon Prime’s Australian sketch comedy television series ‘The Moth Effect’, and took part in ‘Adidas’ World Cup Call Up’ alongside the Matildas.

In the podcasting realm, Hanson co-hosted Shameless Media’s ‘Everybody Has a Secret’, a weekly podcast which has amassed over half a million followers across social media. Prior to this, he also hosted ‘Pedestrian Daily’, a Spotify Exclusive daily morning news podcast.

In 2024, Hanson made his TV presenting debut, co-hosting the ‘Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras 2024 Broadcast’ on ABC. The following year, he took to Australian Open’s ‘Bluezone’ couch, commentating night matches live across AO’s social channels. Other hosting credits include the 2024 Australian Open Finals Festival, 2025 & 2024 Melbourne International Film Festival Opening Night Gala red carpets, 2025 Champion Pride round panel, 2023 Melbourne Spotify premiere for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, and 2022 Sydney premiere for ‘Bros’.

In terms of his writing, Hanson’s articles have appeared in publications such as The New York Times, the Guardian, Harper’s Bazaar, SBS and the Sydney Morning Herald. He previously had a fortnightly column for GQ Australia, titled ‘Asking for a friend…’

He has also fronted campaigns and hosted events for Armani, Australian Open, Hilton, Dan Murphy’s, Toyota, and Adidas Australia, among others.
