Molly Daniels is a Melbourne-based writer, director, and actor—one of Australia’s sharpest comedy minds (according to her). With a background in performance and training from iO Theatre in Chicago and the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, Molly has built a versatile career spanning screen, audio, and digital platforms.

As an actor, she has appeared in numerous television series, including lead roles as Sam Angel in ABC’s Back In Very Small Business and Ellie in Tomorrow When The War Began. She also starred as Asher in the critically acclaimed Ronny Chieng: International Student (ABC/Comedy Central), which later aired in the US. Her other screen credits include You’re Skitting Me (ABC3), Talking About Your Generation, The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Get Krack!n, Upper Middle Bogan, Party Tricks, The Librarians, and Stories From The Golf.

In addition to her on-screen work, Molly is an accomplished writer and creator. She was a staff writer on two seasons of the Netflix/ABC ME series The InBESTigators, writing 12 episodes. She has also contributed to You’re Skitting Me and co-wrote lyrics for Upper Middle Bogan. In 2015, she made her debut as a creator with the web series Young Love, which she wrote, directed, produced, and starred in.

In audio, Molly is the co-host and writer of Short & Curly, ABC’s top-charting ethics podcast for kids, now over twenty seasons strong. She is also a regular contributor to Breakfast with Sammy J on ABC Radio, exploring ethical dilemmas for adults.

Her work in digital comedy includes the AACTA-nominated web series Celebration Nation, which she co-created, wrote, produced, and starred in, funded by Screen Australia’s Skip Ahead initiative. She followed this with the Instagram series Party of the Century and its Creative Victoria-funded sequel Funeral of the Century. Most recently, she directed, script edited, and produced the romantic comedy web series Wispy, released on Instagram and TikTok with support from Screen Australia.
