Alexei Toliopoulos is a writer, comedian, podcaster, film critic and technically, an internationally acclaimed investigative documentarian.

Currently, Alexei utilizes his unmatched encyclopaedic film knowledge and infectious passion to celebrate cinema on The Last Video Store. In collaboration with Betoota Advocate, Alexei chats to guests about their favourite films in the style of an old-school video store rental combo. Featuring conversations with George Miller, Chris Hemsworth, Anya Taylor-Joy, Troy Cassar-Daley, Angela White, Miranda Tapsell and many more the show has quickly become a go-to podcast for film lovers.

Alongside creative partner Cameron James, Alexei created and stars in the investigative-comedy YouTube docuseries Finding Yeezus. The cult series is a follow-up to their deeply beloved and obsessively listened to ABC podcasts Finding Drago and Finding Desperado. The ‘Finding’ series is cherished for its artisanal blend of goofy comedy, heartfelt emotional resonance and bedevilling procedural style. It captures that ‘tumbling down the rabbit hole’ feeling of being the only one tugging at an unravelling thread of obscure pop culture conspiracy… and it’s all true.

Alexei caught attention as a breakout panellist on ABC TV’s news satire panel show Question Everything hosted by Wil Anderson & Jan Fran, having appeared on more episodes across the 2 seasons than any other guest. He has also appeared on The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, Netflix’s Heartbreak High, The Feed on SBS and was cut out of Colin From Accounts (this has been left in the bio to display his humble nature).
