Max Rushden

Max Rushden

Max Rushden is a broadcaster, journalist, and podcaster based in Melbourne, though Cambridge-born through and through.

He hosts the world’s biggest and most beloved football podcast, The Guardian’s Football Weekly, and co-hosts the podcast What Did You Do Yesterday? alongside Irish comedian David O’Doherty. Every weekend, he also presents the award-winning The Warm Up on TalkSport and writes a fortnightly column for The Guardian.

On screen, Max is probably best known for hosting Soccer AM on Sky Sports during the Glory Years (’08–’15), with further TV credits spanning BBC One, BT Sport, Channel 4, and Sky One. Australian audiences will recognise him from three years fronting Stan Sport’s UEFA coverage and regular appearances on Ten’s The Project. Before all of that, he was an investigative journalist at the BBC.

He also read Modern History at Oxford — though, for reasons that remain unclear, nobody believes him.
