Millie Holten is a writer and performer with a passion for grotty comedy.
Her work has gained critical acclaim and millions of views across mediums, including screen projects, live comedy, scripted podcasts, comics, and games.
A 2019 VCA screenwriting graduate — in 2020, Holten’s scripts won the Script Pipeline First Look Project and were shortlisted for the Australian Writers’ Guild John Hinde Award.
In 2023, her pilot was shortlisted for the Australian Writers’ Guild Monte Miller Award and inducted into the AWG Pathways Program.
Millie has performed live comedy for over eight years, with sell-out narrative/sketch shows across MICF 2018, 2019, and 2021.
She is the co-creator/writer/performer of the scripted podcast series The Candyman, which was nominated for Best Comedy Podcast at the 2021 Australian Podcast Awards, featured on NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour, ABC Radio Melbourne, and more.
Her webcomic, Long Head, has racked up over 4,000,000 views on TikTok, with an animated sketch series in production starring Sam Campbell, produced by Not A Real Media Company.
She is the co-creator/writer/performer of the upcoming VicScreen & Screen Australia-supported web series, Descent, produced by Haven’t You Done Well.
Millie is the Narrative Lead at Toot Games (working on their VicScreen-funded title, My Arms Are Longer Now), and an academic screenwriting tutor at the VCA.
