Steen Raskopoulos is a trans-hemispheric triple threat – an Australian-born, UK-based comedian, actor and improviser, soon to star in a hotly-anticipated antipodean re-imagining of The Office.
Steen has been writing and performing in sketch comedy and improvised stage shows since he was eighteen, beginning his comedy career at The University of Sydney and crowned the youngest ever Theatresports National Champion of Australia at age twenty.
Since then, Steen has won multiple awards and received numerous nominations from the Edinburgh Fringe, Sydney Comedy and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, for live shows such as Bruce SpringSTEEN LIVE IN CONCERT!, I’m Wearing Two Suits Because I Mean Business and Character Assassin. He is also the taller half of the improv duo The Bear Pack.
Steen starred in the BBC Three comedy Top Coppers (2015) as lead character John Mahogany alongside John Kearns, Rich Fulcher, Simon Farnaby, Danny John-Jules and James Fleet. In addition to Top Coppers, Steen was the star of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Australia. He has also appeared on the ABC’s Squinters, Utopia, At Home Alone Together, The Code, The Record and This is Littleton and Legally Brown for SBS.
More recently he starred in The Duchess, created by Katherine Ryan, as well as Black Mirror and Feel Good for Netflix.
Steen’s new solo sketch offering Friendly Stranger is packed with lovable characters, charisma and inspired spontaneity – all hallmarks of the Steen Raskopoulos experience. Friendly Stranger is currently playing the Pleasance Courtyard for Edinburgh Fringe after a successful Melbourne season.
The Office (Australia) is set to air in late 2024.
