In 2019, she won the inaugural Rebel8 Outstanding Emerging Female Director at Flickerfest for her breakout digital comedy series Calling which she wrote, directed and starred in alongside Debra Lawrance (Please Like Me). The comedy series also received several awards and nominations including Outstanding Achievement in Directing for Miley at the WA Screen Culture Awards and Best International Film as well as a nomination for Best Comedy Award for Calling at Austin Comedy Festival. Virgin Airlines programed Calling to play its inflight entertainment before the series was acquired by the SBS to screen nationally on both its broadcast and streaming platforms in 2021.

In 2020 Miley earned an Australian Director’s Guild Awards Best Director nomination for Molly and Cara, the short comedy series she was commissioned to create for SBS. Miley’s latest film as writer and director is the female led suspense drama In Australia. It premiered at the 2021 St Kilda Film Festival and won the coveted Audience Choice Award as well as being nominated for Best Short film at CinefestOZ Film Festival. In Australia was nominated for a record seven awards, winning three awards at the 2021 WA Screen Culture awards – including Outstanding Achievement in Directing.

Miley has written episodes on Australian broadcast series including The Heights (ABC), which debuted to critical acclaim in February 2019, and series one and two of the ABC animated comedy series 100% Wolf. She has previously won the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards Top Prize for Best TV Comedy and was the recipient of Screenwest’s prestigious Bill Warnock Writer’s Award. Her writing has consistently placed in international screenwriting awards including The Oscars Academy Nicholls Fellowships. She has several original TV projects in development with production companies both in Australia and in the US.

In 2019 Miley was invited into the prestigious MIFF Director’s Accelerator LAB Program. And in 2018, she was selected for Screen Australia’s Talent USA Program that introduces the best emerging Australian talent to the international market. That same year the Director’s Guild selected Miley to attend the Producer’s Guild conference as a directing “One to Watch.”

Miley upcoming first feature as writer and director, the supernatural horror Proclivitas, won the 2023 Screenwest and Screen Australia ‘West Coast Visions’ feature film grant prize of 1.25 million. The film is being produced by Kate Separovich (Dirt Music) and Debbie Liebling (Borat, Dodgeball, South Park) and is now due to go into production in 2024.
