Natalie Abbott is an actress, singer and performer originally hailing from the South Coast of NSW, who will soon appear as the leading role of Muriel Heslop in Global Creatures’ remount of Muriel’s Wedding The Musical, playing in Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne from March 2019.
In 2013, after winning the Bell Shakespeare regional performance scholarship with her monologue of Viola from the Twelfth Night, it solidified that performing was the dream. Natalie then went on to complete a Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Theatre at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) where Natalie was under the guidance of an array of illustrious industry professionals, like the wonderful Jennifer Murphy and Greg Crease, whose wisdom and passion has been an incredible inspiration to her.
In 2015, Natalie was cast in the AIM production of The Witches of Eastwick as Jane Smart, directed by Tony Cogin. In 2016/2017 Natalie was part of Supply Evolutions production of Bare: A Pop Opera directed by Hannah Barn where she was cast as one of her dream roles, Nadia McConnell.
Natalie is so thrilled that her professional debut is in Muriel’s Wedding the Musical and would like to give a huge “thank you” to everyone who has helped her along on this journey.
