Natalie Abbott is an actress, singer and performer originally hailing from the South Coast of NSW, who appeared as the leading role of Muriel Heslop in Global Creatures’ remount of Muriel’s Wedding The Musical in 2019.
In 2013, after winning the Bell Shakespeare regional performance scholarship with her monologue of Viola from the Twelfth Night, it solidified that performing was the dream. Natalie then went on to complete a Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Theatre at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) where Natalie was under the guidance of an array of illustrious industry professionals, like the wonderful Jennifer Murphy and Greg Crease, whose wisdom and passion has been an incredible inspiration to her.
In 2015, Natalie was cast in the AIM production of The Witches of Eastwick as Jane Smart, directed by Tony Cogin. In 2016/2017 Natalie was part of Supply Evolutions production of Bare: A Pop Opera directed by Hannah Barn where she was cast as one of her dream roles, Nadia McConnell.
Natalie was nominated for a Helpmann Award for Best Female Actor in a Musical, and a Green Room Award for Lead Role in Musical Theatre for Muriel’s Wedding the Musical.
